Dear Booksellers

Dear Booksellers aka Fearless Culture Workers,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Alyssa Reynoso-Morris and I am a picture book author.

I have over 10 years of experience as a speaker. I served as a speaker for TikTok, TD Bank, New York Public Library, Queens Library, Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore, The Free Library of Philadelphia, the MontCo Norristown Library, the Latinx KidLit Book Festival, the Women In Publishing Summit, Arcadia University, the Philadelphia Latin American Book Fair, St Christopher’s Hospital, and many more. My work and book have been highlighted by NBC10, Telemundo, Hip Latina, Al Dia, Dominican Writers’ Association, Motherly, and We All Grow Latina. Please see my media kit with my bio, information about my books, and details about my speaker topics.

I am reaching out to let you know that as an author, I stand with you and support the important work bookstores do in their local communities and for their local economy. I appreciate that you are culture workers creating safe spaces for writers, readers, families, and more.

Please feel free to contact me if you carry any of my books and I would be honored to do whatever it takes to help you sell my book. I could send signed bookplates and stickers and/or tape a video to promote the book and your store. I am based in Philadelphia and work with my local indies to host events, but I wanted to reach out to you in order to explore mutually beneficial ways to work together from afar.

My upcoming book, Bold, Brilliant, and Latine, comes out July 3, 2025, and it is perfect for Latine and Hispanic families and children. Within this beautifully illustrated book, you can meet 52 heroes such as astronaut Ellen Ochoa, soccer superstar Lionel Messi, as well as fearless changemakers, scientists, writers, political leaders, and more. You can discover one new figure to explore each week, with empowering stories to inspire children, vividly told by award-winning storyteller Alyssa Reynoso-Morris and brought to life by illustrator Sol Cotti’s artwork. This book will inspire a new generation to chase their dreams…whatever they may be! Here is the link to the Edelweiss page.

My debut book, Plátanos Are Love & Los Platanos Son Amor, received glowing reviews from Kirkus, Publisher's Weekly, and a starred review from the School Library Journal. It is a delicious picture book about the ways plantains shape Latinx culture, community, and family told through a young girl’s experiences in the kitchen with her Abuela. Here is the link to the Edelweiss page.

My second book, The Bronx Is My Home, is a picture book celebration of hometown pride including the history, landscape, cuisines, cultures, and activities unique to this vibrant community. It was well received in the Bronx and teachers love it. Here is the link to the Edelweiss page.

My third book, Gloriana Presente, available in both English and Spanish, is an affirming multicultural story that will help new students stand tall and discover the joys of community at school. This imaginative picture book celebrates the transformative power of self-soothing. On the first day of elementary school, Abuela soothes Gloriana’s nerves by telling her stories about their family home in la República Dominicana. But as soon as Gloriana enters the classroom, the tropical scenery crumbles and la música is replaced with English phrases she does not understand. When other kids approach her to play, she freezes, uncertain about how to exist in both of her different homes and how to make new friends using her two languages. Abuela recognizes echoes of her own immigration journey on this challenging day at school, and she gently guides Gloriana toward newfound confidence.

Please email me if I can be of assistance.

Thank you in advance for your time and I look forward to collaborating.

Best,

Alyssa Reynoso-Morris
